Hi my name is Greg Payne, I served as a combat infantryman with D Company 4th Battalion 12th Infantry 199th Light Infantry Brigade, Vietnam 1969 - 1970 and on the DMZ border patrol between Communist North Korea and Free South Korea as a combat infantryman with B Company 1st Battalion 32nd Infantry 7th Infantry Division (Light).

            HERE IS THE NEW:

AGENT ORANGE "SILVER ROSE" MEDAL

PLEASE VIEW THIS VIDEO AND READ

ON...

As you may know both countrys were very heavily sprayed with Chemical 2-4-5T as it was originally from the DOW Chemical Company, we know it of course as "Agent Orange".

My Squad in Vietnam walked right into an area of a dry rice paddie, pineapple groves, and coconut palms that was already being sprayed in an geographical area called "The Pineapple" about three "klicks" from the Cambodian border.  We called it in on the radio at the time as "insectiside".  Well as we all know now that expierences like that was no insectiside!  Three days after the exposure I was medivaced out with a tumor under my right jaw.  After that I expierenced alot if itching and nubness in the fingers and hands that eventually spread through out my entire body as a type of partial paralyzation in the human symptoms list from the VA it is listed as "Peripheral Neuropathy (acute or subacute)

The symptoms of peripheral neuropathy include:

numbness and tingling, especially involving the toes and slowly spreading up the leg

the sensation of wearing a glove or sock,

a burning or freezing pain,

extreme sensitivity to touch,

muscle weakness, and

loss of balance and coordination.

Peripheral Neuropathy

More than 2 million Americans have peripheral neuropathy.

This painful condition results from damage to the nerves that carry signals

from the hands and feet. These nerves are long and fragile and therefore easily damaged.

It is one of the Accepted Symptoms of Agent Orange, however the VA has managed to make it Very

Difficult to approve a claim. It has to be reported within one year of leaving Vietnam.

For those of us who were young and didn’t mention any numbness or loss of feeling,

We loose, which is not an uncommon loss for the Vietnam Veteran!

THESE ARE MY HUMAN SYMPTOMS AND THIS WHY IAM IN A WHEELCHAIR IN THE OREGON VETERANS' HOME  IN THE DALLES, OREGON SINCE THE YEAR 2001!

" the VA will pass this off under one of two different catagories one is Musculiar Dystrophy, and the second catagory is pushed off on to "Multiple Securosis."

IF YOU HAVE WHAT I HAVE HERE ARE SOME HELP LINKS...

What I want to say is this anyone who had type I or type II diabetes, melenoma cancer, PTSD or any other alphabet soup the VA can throw at us we can now get a medal called the "Silver Rose" that was originally set up by the Native Americans as a type of Chemical Wound medal under the "Order Of" just like the sister to the "Order Of" Purple Heart.  There's only one difference the Purple gets full medical coverage as a service connected injury. Where the "Silver Rose" does not because our Congress blocked the Native Americans dead in their tracks from making this medal into a Chemical Wound medal equal to the purple heart, giving our Country a blood medal would be the Purple Heart and the "Silver Rose" medal as a "Chemical and Biological wound" medal with full medical coverage like the Purple Heart, of which I think is an excellent idea and is long over due!  We had to prepare ourselves for necular war now they need to come to grips with the Chemical and Biological warfare we could not only open the doors for ourselves with Agent Orange, but we can also throw the doors open to all the other Veterans from Desert Storm. Desert Shield, Iraq I & Iraq II and Afghanistan as well.  So all of us that are suffering with these ill fated deseases can at least get the compensation that we need and I think this cause is worth pursuing!  Iam working with my politicians out here in Oregon but Iam but just one person we need the support from everyone to be able roll this baby over! Iam just a pioneer in this so anyone who wants to join my website here as a member maybe we can push this ball up and over the edge!  I will be covering more with you as we go here.  So help secure the future of our children and grandchildren so that when they have to serve our country that they won't have to suffer the hardships that those of us from Vietnam have had to go through!  The cause is nobel and just andit's time to lead the charge!  Help secure our future generations from the hurt and pain from any more Vietnams!

Please join my website on my membership page and help secure the health care for our future generations and stop letting the government pass the buck off on to entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicade as well as organizations like the MDA, of which have absolutely no responsibility to pay up for wounds sustained in combat!  This is a military problem that needs to be bounced back to the VA to pay up and not to be rolled back on the entitlement programs that are already hurting financially the VA needs to stand up to the plate and start facing the responsibility and the reality of their own problems and stop bleeding all of our entitlement programs dry!

I don't think that most veterans have ever heard of the "Silver Rose" medal but mine had to be given to me by the United States Senate and Congress Represenatives so it does have some political clout, but only enough to make both the Congress and Senate do the soft shoe shuffle down Prim Rose Lane without facing the responsibility of really talking turkey!  Now is the time to start showing the way to other veterans who maybe unaware of what we really have and what we can really do about it!  I will be showing you my pictures of my "Agent Orange Ceremony" held in my hometown of Vancouver, WA at the Vancouver Fairgrounds on November 6th 2006 with U.S. Congresswoman Darlene Hooley of the State of Oregon, (now retired) and U.S. Senator Brian Baird of Washington State.  So get the Pioneer Spirit and join my Membership page today!  Just click on this "Agent Orange Awareness Month" posted below is a working link and join my website today "!

Map Of Agent Orange Spray Area

                                                          BannerThin.gif=

The map below is a representation of herbicide spray missions in Vietnam. The Orange areas represent concentrated spraying areas. This map only represents fixed-wing aircraft spraying, and does not include helicopter spraying of perimeters, or other spray methods. The III Corps area received the heaviest concentrations of spraying, followed by I Corps, II Corps and IV Corps. Agent Orange was the code name for a herbicide developed for the military, primarily for use in tropical climates. Although the genesis of the product goes back to the 1940's, serious testing for military applications did not begin until the early 1960's. The purpose of the product was to deny an enemy cover and concealment in dense terrain by defoliating trees and shrubbery where the enemy could hide. The product "Agent Orange" (a code name for the orange band that was used to mark the drums it was stored in, was principally effective against broad-leaf foliage, such as the dense jungle-like terrain found in Southeast Asia. The product was tested in Vietnam in the early 1960's, and brought into ever widening use during the height of the war (1967-68), though it's use was diminished and eventually discontinued in 1971. Agent Orange was a 50-50 mix of two chemicals, known conventionally as 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T. The combined product was mixed with kerosene or diesel fuel and dispersed by aircraft, vehicle, and hand spraying. An estimated 19 million gallons of Agent Orange were used in South Vietnam during the war. The earliest health concerns about Agent Orange were about the product's contamination with TCDD, or dioxin. TCDD is one of a family of dioxins, some found in nature, and are cousins of the dibenzofurans and pcb's. The TCDD found in Agent Orange is harmful to man. In laboratory tests on animals, TCDD has caused a wide variety of diseases, many of them fatal. TCDD is not found in nature, but rather is a man-made and always unwanted byproduct of the chemical manufacturing process. The Agent Orange used in Vietnam was later found to be extremely contaminated with TCDD Although the Veterans Administration denies that Agent Orange is not related to renal (Kidney) cancer, there is a large number of Vietnam Veterans who have been diagnosed with kidney cancer. Below is a map of where Agent Orange was sprayed, orange being the highest concentrated areas. The Veterans Administration has continually denied the problems Angent Orange has caused among Vietnam Veterans.
